Hawkins Fabrics
Born of the grit and determination of Upstate New York. Hawkins Fabrics, a subsidiary of Lee Dyeing of NC, Inc., is a circular knitting operation located in Johnstown, New York. We are proud to be a third generation family business.
Circular Knitting
We produce single knit fabrics such as Fleece, Jersey and Terry as well as double knit fabrics such as Interlock, Pique, Ponte, Rib and Waffle (Thermal). We also have the ability to nap/fleece our fabrics.
Fabrics
We specialize in industrial fabrics, known for being heat and/or cut resistant, made with Kevlar, Lenzing FR Rayon, Nomex, PBI and various blends thereof. We also work with Dolanit, Dyneema, Spectra, Twaron and Vectran as well as acrylic, cashmere, cotton, modacrylic, nylon, polyester and continue to expand our wool program.
Yarns & Fibers
We work with spun, core spun and engineered yarns. We have forged relationships with our yarn suppliers and fiber producers so we can offer competitive pricing and efficient lead times. Our goal is to meet our customers’ high quality standards and to meet the ever growing and changing demands of the FR and safety industries as well as the military market.
Custom and Commission Knitting
We can work with you to create fabrics that meet your specific requirements and end applications. We also offer commission knitting services that meet your exacting standards with the ability of quick turnarounds.
Berry Compliance
We offer numerous Berry compliant fabrics as per the Berry Amendment, 10 U.S.C. 2533a (Subpart 225.70), which requires items be grown, reprocessed, reused or produced in the United States. All of our fabrics are produced right here at our mill located in Johnstown, NY. We are also able to meet the strict standards and testing requirements for MIL-SPEC fabrics.
